While Denise, is not comfortable with everyday conversations (she is neurodivergent and on the autism spectrum), her bigger fears are about her sister – Iris, who’s not returned from her end of the world party yet. Denise, a teenager and her drug-addict mother are desperately trying to reach their underground bunker to wait out the wave of devastation in Netherland. Janu– a comet with the capability of wiping out parts of earth’s population is going to hit the planet. But the story couldn’t be more different from its premise and that is exactly what put me off the book. Is it a good, something else – in parts, yes. But it all turned out to be something else. I expected a lot of action, a lot of survival, and high-stakes drama when I picked up the book. I’ll tell you what comes to my mind – an intense science fiction adventure dealing with the aftermath of a comet strike on the planet.
